Stonewashed 1095 High Carbon (HC) Steel holds an edge very well and is optimum for hunting and skinning uses as well as tactical or military tasks. 1095HC is very corrosive and will tarnish when blood, acidic-liquids, or acidic-chemicals come into contact with the blade so we stonewashed the blade to aid in its corrosion and staining resistance. When you are done with your hunt, clean the knife with soap and water, fully dry the knife, coat the knife in gun-oil, and store away from the sheath.
